Cupertino is a city of 60,000 people located in the heart of Silicon Valley. It is best known as the place where Apple Computer was founded in 1976 and that still serves as the company’s home. Apple’s celebrated new “Spaceship” headquarters building opened in Cupertino in 2017.
Cupertino is also home to De Anza Community College and several large open space preserves, including Rancho San Antonio, the county’s most popular park. Cupertino is a highly multicultural community, with a majority Asian population. Currently, 12.5 percent of the city’s population is 65+, and is forecast to grow to 17.5 percent by 2025.
